Trouvère. The son of an artisan whose family had been in Arras from 1170, he was one of the most famous members of the Confrérie des Jongleurs d'Arrasand was chosen as 'Prince du Pui d'Arras.' One of the most prolific writers of jeu-partis, he left some ninety of these, as well as seven songs for which no melodies survive.
