Gherardello da Firenze (Gherardellus, Ser Gherardello)

(? - 1364)

Italian composer. Sixteen of his works, mainly madrigals and ballate, are found in the Squarcialupi Codex, along with a portrait of him. He was one of the most important fourteenth Italian composers contemporary with Landini, and is especially famous for his caccia, Tosto che l'alba.
