'Roy Henry'

(1367-1413)

King of England and composer. There are two pieces in the Old Hall MS ascribed to 'Roy Henry' and although this was written out in the reign of Henry V (1413-22) and the pieces are often ascribed to him, they are in an old-fashioned style more characteristic of the reign of Henry IV (1399-1413). Henry IV himself was both skilled in and fond of music.
