Florentio Maschera

(c.1540 - c.1584)

Italian composer, violinist and organist. A pupil of Merulo at Venice; organist at Brescia cathedral from 1557. One of the earliest composers to write canzonasconsisting of short contrasted sections, he published in 1584 a volume which was twice reprinted.
