Italian composer. Son of Marco Antonio Cavazzoni . Worked in Mantua from at least 1565 until 1577, supervising the construction of the organ at S. Barbara and then serving as organist there. Wrote mostly for keyboard: ricercars, two canzonas (arrangements of chansons by Josquin and Passereau); three Masses, four Magnificats, and twelve hymns based on chant and designed for alternatim performance; also two somewhat shorter ensemble ricercars.
