Leonhard Schröter<

German cantor and composer. From 1561 he was cantor at Latin schools, first in Saalfeld and later in Magdeburg, One of the best German composers of his time, he published motets, German sacred songs, and collections of Christmas music and of hymns; his 8-part Te Deum of 1571 shows familiarity with the most modern Venetian styles.
