Pierre Cadéac

(fl.1538-56)

French composer. Master of the choirboys in Auch in the 1550s. Surviving works, some of which were known as far away as Madrid and Kraków, include seven Masses, over thirty motets, and other liturgical pieces, most published by Parisian printers; ten chansons in the "Parisian" style (most published in Paris and Lyons, 1538-41; "Je suis deshérité" was the most widely known and was often the basis of sacred and secular parody works).
