Loyset Piéton

(fl. ?1519-45)

French composer. He may have lived in Lyons and Italy, as his motets, psalms and chansons appeared in anthologies published in both Lyons and Venice. His motets are distinguished examples of the imitative polyphony of the post-Josquin generation; O beata infantia, à 6, is in the unusual mode of C minor Dorian, and was included in a volume of motets by Willaert.
