Hans Kugelmann

(? - 1542)

German composer and trumpeter. From 1518-23 he served at the Imperial court; he then went to the Prussian court at Königsberg as composer, and after plotting to secure his predecessor's dismissal, became Kapellmeister in 1536. He published a book of 3-part German and Latin sacred songs in 1540, intended for schools and other institutions with untrained singers.
