Thomas Appleby

(1488? - 1563)

English composer who was organist and instructor of the choristers at Lincoln Cathedral 1538-39 and 1541-62. He was also Informator Choristarum at Magdalen College, Oxford, 1539-41. He is known by a Magnificat in the Peterhouse partbooks, and a 'Mass for a Mene' that is somewhat similar to one by Taverner.
