John Cornysh [Cornenysch, Cornish, Cornyshe,Cornyss,Cornysshe, Cornyshe]

(late 15th century-early 16th century)

English composer. Probably some relative of William Cornysh. Represented in the Ritson MS by a very florid two-part setting of Dicant nunc Judei, a verse of the antiphon 'Christus resurgens' from the procession at Mass on Easter Day. Gentleman of the King's Chappell Royal 1503-04.
