Benjamin Cosyn [Cosin, Cosens]

(ca. 1570-1652 or later)

English organist and composer, best known as the compiler of Cosyn's Virginal Book, a MS collection of English keyboard music dated 1620, which contains some 90 pieces by John Bull, Orlando Gibbons and Cosyn himself. Organist of Dulwich College 1622-24. Organist and Choirmaster of the Charterhouse (London) 1626-43.
