Italian musician. A viol player, also known as an instrument maker. Son of Ambrose Lupo, brother of Joseph Lupo. Admitted to the musicians guild in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1555, Musician in the court string band 1556-1608. Employed by Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester beginning around 1567. Peter was one of four Lupos listed among the six violinists who played at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in 1603. Peter Lupo married Katherine Wicke in St. Botolph's on October 27, 1575, and the christening records of his children appear in this parish; among their children was Thomas Lupo, Jr.
