William Whytbroke

(fl. 1520-1530)


William Whytbroke was a contemporary of Taverner's at Cardinal College, Oxford, in 1525, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1529. His surviving music includes a four-part Mass apon ye Square, in the Gyffard partbooks. a Magnificat a 6, and a motet Sancte Deus. We have also a Pars ad placitum W. Whitbroke fecit to Taverner's motet Audivi media nocte.
