Giulio Belli

(c.1560 - after 1621)



Italian composer and Franciscan monk. From 1582 to 1611 he held a succession of appointments as maestro di cappellaat various north Italian churches, beginning and ending at Imola. Between 1580 and 1613 he published many volumes of church music, including motets with cornett obbligati; some of this music later appeared in German anthologies. He also published madrigals and canzonette.
