Claudio Saracini

(1586 -- after 1649)

known to Monteverdi, to whom he dedicated his Seconde Musiche. This was one of six books of monodies which he published, which mark him out as one of the most notable masters of solo song, despite his amateur status. His music sometimes has oddly wayward harmonies which add to its expressive effect.
