Carlo Milanuzzi

( ? - c.1647)

Italian composer and monk. His career as a church musician alternated between central Italy and the north, and three of his posts were in or near Venice. Despite his priestly vocation he composed eight books of tuneful, secular arias, as well as several volumes of mostly small-scale church music, some of which uses ground basses and repeated sections to unify longer pieces such as psalms.
