Johann Michael Bach

(1648 –1694)




German organist and composer (instrumental and vocal). Brother of Johann Christoph Bach, and as a composer almost his equal; born Arnstadt, Aug. 9, 1648 ; died Gehren, May, 1694. Organist and town clerk of Gehren from 1673. Also a maker of harpsichords, violins, and other instruments. He composed motets, preludes and fugues.
