Melchior Franck

(ca.1580 - 1639)

German composer, possibly a pupil of Demantius. Sang at Augsburg under Gumpelzhaimer and was court Kapellmeister at Coburg from 1603 until his death. He published chorale settings, motets, secular Lieder and instrumental music, which all show the influence of Hassler and the Venetian polychoral style.
