English composer and musician. Musician to King William III 1694; aMaster of the Music 1700-1714. Eccles composed the music for the coronation of Queen Anne, and published many volumes of theatre music, songs, and masques. Son of Solomon Eccles 2, brother of Daniel Eccles, Henry Eccles and Thomas Eccles.
