Andrea Antico

(1470/80 - after 1539)


Italian publisher active in the early sixteenth century, born in Montona (Motovun, N. Yugoslavia), who was active in Rome and Venice, and a composer important in the transition from frottola to madrigal. He published frottola arrangements for keyboard and a Liber XV missarum (Rome, 1516) including Masses by Josquin, Mouton, de la Rue, Févin and Brumel.
