Franco-Flemish composer. Spent his life in the service of Philip II of Spain, as chorister (from 1572), vice- maestro de capilla under de la Hèèle (from 1582) and maestro (from 1588), the last north European composer to hold such a position at the Spanish court. He wrote church music, some published, chansons and villancicos.
