John Travers

(c.1703 - 1758)

English composer and organist. Choirmaster, St George's Chapel, Windsor, studying with Maurice Greene and Pepusch. Organist at St Paul's, Covent Garden, 1725, and the Chapel Royal 1737. Travers wrote psalm-settings for voice with keyboard. continuo, services, and organ voluntaries.
