English composer (= Sir Ferdinando Heybourne). Groom of the Privy Chamber of Queen Elizabeth 1586 - 1611. Although an amateur, Richardson was at one time a pupil of Tallis. There survives a keyboard Pavan and Galliard, each with variation, in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, Nos. 4-7; a second pair, each with variation, in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, Nos. 27-30; and an Alman in a British Museum MS. There is a Pavan and Galliard by Thomas Morley, 'set by Mr. Heybourne', in a Cambridge, Fitzwilliam Museum MS once owned by John Bull.
